Best Domain Registrars For 2009

A while back I wrote an article about the first three Registrars at this time. Since then much has changed. New players, new features and lower prices to name a few.

Let's recap what the Chancellor did not:

1st Hold the master "database" of domain names on the Internet.

2nd They allow anyone to keep a domain name.

3rd The registration record is held by the basic information about your site. (IP address, e-mail server,etc..)

The biggest names in Registrars are now:

* Godaddy.com

* Yahoo.com

* Register.com

* NetworkSolutions.com

We take a quick look at each service and compare the properties.

Godaddy.com
They are the low-cost leader. For about $ 10/yr. They retain a single domain name. For a few dollars more, you can get private domain registration or additional applications (. Info,. Tv,. NET, etc. ..). Navigating the sitecan be a bit difficult because it is very confusing. However, they have the best value and the management functions for the domain.

Yahoo.com
They have raised their prices over the past two years. 1 years domain registration is now $ 15/yr. (Used to be $ 10). The user interface is very easy to navigate, but you need a Yahoo e-mail to log on to the domain manager.

Register.com
Not sure why they charge $ 34.99/yr. for domain reservations. However,they have a very clean interface and the same functions as GoDaddy.

NetworkSolutions.com
They are the original registrar. It all started with them. However, they have not renewed past its infancy and needs to feel the pain. Your e-mail servers have constant questions, and they are difficult to know if you call they are dealing.

Our recommendation for 2009 is godaddy.com.
